What is Bible Quizzing?
Bible Quizzing is a fun way for youth to study God's word and then compete in a largely, relaxed environment, with other people to see how much they know!
Why Bible Quizzing?
We know God's Word never returns void. This is one way to really get God's word in the hearts of our young people. If young people complete multiple years, they will have had an extensive study of the Bible. Much more than what many adults, in church, get.
How does it work?
Think of it like Jeopardy; only instead of 3 people, there are 3 teams of 3 competing against each other in a match. Also instead of them buzzing in, they are jumping in!
Do you study the whole Bible in one year?
No way! That would be a tall order. Each year, we select one larger book, or several smaller books, to go over.
What kind of questions are asked?
Questions are largely who, what, when, where, etc. type of questions. It is not debating theology as much as it is stating the facts of the text. This is why multiple denominations can peacably compete!
Students will answer basic questions of leveled difficulty, and sometimes are asked to quote entire verses.
What if I don't know the answer?
Well, you don't have to jump unless you feel like you know. At the same time, guessing is encouraged because that's how you learn. We are here to encourage one another.
